What we look for
Garage punk, shoegaze, post-punk, psych rock, lo-fi electronic. Songs over production, and a live band that exists. Three finished tracks, your band name, your city, one sentence about the record you want to make. No covers acts, no AI-generated projects.
Sync licensing for film, TV, advertising, and games: licensing@staticfuzzrecords.example. We control master and publishing on most of the catalog and can clear both sides in a single email.
About
Founded 2019. Still answering our own phone.
Static Fuzz Records started in 2019 with one 7" and a borrowed tape machine. Eight catalog numbers later, the method has not changed: small pressings, honest contracts, records that sound like the room they were made in.
We are a working label, not a brand. Every release is mastered for vinyl, pressed in the Midwest, and sold from our own front room at 2841 Foundry Row. Artists keep their masters after seven years. Splits are 50/50 after costs, in writing, before anything gets pressed.
The roster stays small on purpose. Five acts, five genres, one standard: it has to work live in a Detroit basement before it works anywhere else. If that sounds like your band, section 03 tells you exactly how to reach us.
The Front Room
One office. One phone line. No voicemail box that gets checked twice.
The shop
The front room is a small record shop: the whole catalog on vinyl and cassette, a turntable you are allowed to use, and whatever the office is arguing about that week on the counter. Walk in during office hours; nobody will ask what you want.
