Atelier Noor designs residential and hospitality interiors with the rigor of an editor and the eye of a collector. Quiet whites, decisive black, one stroke of terracotta — and rooms that hold their nerve.

what we do

Three ways of working, one standard. Every engagement begins with a paid consultation so that advice — not a sales call — is the first thing you receive.

  1. full-service residential

    from $15,000 design fee

Whole homes and significant multi-room projects, carried from first sketch to the last stem in the vase. We handle concept, drawings, procurement, trades coordination, and installation. Most clients are with us four to nine months.

  2. commercial & hospitality

    custom proposals scoped per project

Restaurants, boutique retail, and small hotels that need a point of view, not a mood board. Proposals are written after a site visit and priced to the scope, schedule, and operating realities of your business.

  3. design consultation

    $250 for two hours

A working session at the studio or in your space: layouts tested, palettes argued, a clear plan left behind. The $250 fee is credited toward your design fee if you continue into full-service work.

how it unfolds

  1. discover

We walk your space, measure everything, and interview you properly — how you cook, read, argue, entertain. The phase closes with a written brief, a fixed design fee, and a furnishings budget we both believe.

  2. design

Concept, floor plans, elevations, and a full material and furniture scheme, presented in two structured reviews. You approve a complete picture of the finished rooms before a single order is placed.

  3. procure

We place, track, and inspect every order — trade-only workrooms, vintage dealers, and local makers included — and coordinate contractors against one master schedule, so lead times stay our problem, not yours.

  4. install

Everything arrives, is placed, steamed, hung, and styled over a few concentrated days while you stay away. You return to finished rooms, a care binder, and a bottle of something cold.

selected work

Six projects, six arguments about how a room should behave. Compositions below are abstract studies of each space’s plan, light, and palette.

principal designer & founder

Noor Haddad founded Atelier Noor in 2017 after a decade designing residences and restaurants for two of Chicago’s most exacting firms. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA in Art History from the University of Michigan — trained in architecture, fluent in upholstery, and convinced that restraint is not the absence of ideas but the editing of them.

Her projects have been published in national shelter magazines and shortlisted for a Midwest hospitality design award; her clients mostly find her the old way, through the doors of rooms she has finished. She works with a deliberately small studio — two designers, one project manager — and takes on eight to ten projects a year, never more.

“A good room should read like a good paragraph: nothing you could remove without losing the meaning.”

questions, answered

How much does a design consultation cost?
A design consultation with Atelier Noor costs $250 for a two-hour session, held at our Wicker Park studio or at your home. The fee is credited toward your design fee if you engage us for full-service work.
What does full-service residential design cost?
Full-service residential design starts at $15,000 in design fees, with most whole-home projects ranging higher depending on scope. Furnishings and construction budgets are separate and defined together during the Discover phase.
How long does a typical project take?
A typical full-service residential project takes four to nine months from first consultation to final installation. Smaller single-room projects can be completed in as little as twelve weeks.
Do you take projects outside Chicago?
Yes. Most of our work is in Chicago neighborhoods like Wicker Park, Logan Square, and Lincoln Park, but we serve the greater Chicago area and accept a small number of travel projects each year.
Do I need an appointment to visit the studio?
Yes, the studio at 1755 W Ferrow St is open by appointment only, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Call (312) 555-0167 to schedule a visit.
Do you design commercial or hospitality spaces?
Yes. We design restaurants, boutique retail, and hospitality interiors under custom proposals scoped to each project. Commercial engagements begin with the same $250 consultation as residential work.
Is there parking near the studio?
Metered street parking is usually available on Ferrow Street and the nearby side streets. The CTA Blue Line Division stop is a two-block walk from the studio, and the #70 Division bus stops within a block of our door.
